PICK ONE FOR ME - Well, this one has been a long time coming. My producing partner Chad Wilson and I finished this in 2014 and had some great screenings in Chicago, including the Chicago Comedy Film Festival. Been busy, meant to put it out there after a round of festival submissions, and then got busy with DTB and life stuff, and kind of actually kept forgetting/procrastinating.
I had had the idea for this floating around in my brain for probably close to 10 years. Inspired by an event from an ESL class I was teaching. So I played it out.
Paul Tinsley, the star of this, is so talented and so great to work with. You'll recognize him from some other things. Joette Waters plays his wife, and is phenomenal as well. The always killer Mike Lebovitz bookends it, and it is always an honor to work with the lethal Anthony Oberbeck, Saurin Choksi, and CJ Sullivan.
Jason Beaumont not only DP'ed this, he played the French horn parts, which are incredible.
Countries represented by actor and extras here are Eritrea, Iraq, Azerbaijan, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama, India, and Russia (I think that's all...) And thanks to Roxana Chirila for translating!
